Culprit — Terms of Service

Effective: July 6, 2026 · App: Culprit (com.culprit.game) · Developer: Michael Alemayehu

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Culprit mobile app ("Culprit", "the app", "we", "us"). By downloading, installing, or using the app, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

1. The service

Culprit is a daily deduction puzzle game. Each day a new case is released; you read the clues, name a culprit, and your solve time is recorded. We may add, modify, or discontinue features at any time.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use Culprit. By using the app you represent that you meet this requirement.

3. Your account

An anonymous account is created automatically on first launch; no email or password is required. You may choose an optional detective name that is visible to friends and in standings. You are responsible for activity that occurs through your device and account. See our Privacy Policy for how your data is handled.

4. Detective's Pass subscription

5. Advertising

Free users may watch optional rewarded ads (for example, to reveal a hint) served via Google AdMob. Subscribers see no ads. Ads are optional and are never required to solve the daily case.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to cheat, exploit, reverse-engineer, tamper with, or disrupt the app or its servers; not to abuse other players through your detective name or duels; and not to use the app for any unlawful purpose. We may suspend or terminate access for violations.

7. Intellectual property

The app and its cases, artwork, text, and branding are owned by the developer and protected by law. You receive a personal, non-transferable, revocable license to use the app for its intended purpose. You may not copy, distribute, or create derivative works without permission.

8. Disclaimers

The app is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or always available.

9. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the developer is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app. Our total liability for any claim relating to the app will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim or US$50.

10. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes are reflected by the "Effective" date above. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated Terms.

11. Termination

You may stop using the app at any time and delete your account from Settings. We may suspend or end your access if you violate these Terms.

12. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Nevada, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Disputes will be resolved in the courts located in Nevada, unless applicable law requires otherwise.
