Culprit — Privacy Policy
Effective: July 5, 2026 · App: Culprit (com.culprit.game) · Developer: Michael Alemayehu
Culprit is a daily detective puzzle game. This policy describes what data the app handles and why.
What we collect
- Anonymous account ID. An account is created automatically the first time you open the app. No email, name, phone number, or password is requested.
- Detective name. An optional display pseudonym you choose. It is visible to friends you add and appears in duel and standings screens.
- Gameplay data. Case results (solve times, wrong-guess counts, hint use), streaks, friendships, and duel outcomes, linked to your anonymous account.
- Analytics events. First-party gameplay events (e.g., app opened, case started/solved) used to understand and improve the game. No third-party analytics SDK is used.
- Advertising identifiers. The app shows optional rewarded ads via Google AdMob, which may collect your device's advertising ID and related data as described in Google's Privacy Policy. Subscribers see no ads.
- Purchase data. Subscriptions are processed by the app store you bought through — the Apple App Store or Google Play — and by RevenueCat (privacy policy). We never see your payment details.
What we don't collect
No precise location, no contacts, no photos or files, no messages (the game has no chat), no personal identity data.
Where data lives
Game data is stored with Supabase (hosted database) and transmitted over HTTPS.
Deleting your data
You can delete your account and all associated data at any time from Settings → Delete account inside the app, or see the account deletion page.
Children
Culprit is not directed at children under 13.
